Sindh High Court Orders Registration of FIR in Missing Persons Recovery Case

Karachi Bureau Report

The Constitutional Bench of the Sindh High Court has ordered the registration of an FIR in connection with a petition seeking the recovery of missing citizens.

During the hearing, the petitioner’s counsel informed the court that the missing individuals were allegedly taken into custody from their home by police officials during a raid. He stated that after the raid, attempts were made to contact Sachal Police Station, but the police expressed ignorance regarding the detainees, and their whereabouts remain unknown.

The court made the replies submitted by the parties part of the judicial record. Subsequently, the bench directed the petitioner to approach the relevant police station for the registration of an FIR and ordered authorities to lodge the case to facilitate the search and recovery of the missing persons.

The petition was filed by Ms. Rabia Basri for the recovery of Shah Waliullah and Abdul Latif, naming the Inspector General of Sindh, DIG West Karachi, CTD Civil Lines, SHO Sachal, and others as respondents.
