Pakistan Engages Global Partners to Explore Emerging Financial Technologies, Says Finance Minister

Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, stated that Pakistan is actively engaging with reputable international partners to evaluate new technologies aimed at strengthening the country’s financial system. The minister made these remarks during a meeting with a delegation from Sujwani Business Group on Wednesday.

The discussion focused on potential cooperation in digital finance and emerging technologies, including tokenization, artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, and digital infrastructure. The high-level delegation was led by Chairman of One Group, Syed Zeeshan Shah.

Minister Aurangzeb highlighted ongoing reforms in Pakistan’s financial sector and the government’s digital transformation agenda. The delegation expressed keen interest in collaborating with Pakistan, offering technical expertise, advisory support, and capacity building in areas such as tokenization of real assets, blockchain-based platforms, AI-driven solutions, and modern digital infrastructure.

The delegation also showcased global best practices and private-sector innovations that could help Pakistan improve transparency, efficiency, investor access, and financial inclusion while fully complying with the country’s legal and regulatory framework.

Both parties agreed that careful implementation of these emerging technologies could expand capital markets, attract international investment, and promote sustainable economic growth. The minister appreciated the delegation’s interest and constructive engagement, emphasizing Pakistan’s commitment to responsible innovation, strong governance, and regulatory compliance.

Minister Aurangzeb stressed that any potential collaboration would be guided by national priorities, transparency, and applicable laws and policies. The delegation also included Ameera Hussain Sujwani, Co-Managing Director of DAMAC Group and Co-Founder & CEO of Prepco; Aqib Hassan, Chief Commercial Officer, One Homes; and Joseph Alam, Chief of Staff & General Manager Tokenization.
