HEC Pakistan and Pakistan Network of Quality Assurance in Higher Education Agree to Launch Joint Quality Assurance Programs

Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan and the Pakistan Network of Quality Assurance in Higher Education (PNQAH) have agreed to launch joint quality assurance programs aimed at further enhancing the standard of education in higher education institutions across the country.

The decision was made during a meeting at HEC, chaired by HEC Executive Director Professor Dr. Ziaul Haq. The meeting was attended by Dr. Asiya Bukhari, President of PNQAH, along with her team, including Air Commodore (R) Muhammad Ismail.

Officials from HEC, including Director General Quality Assurance Nasir Shah and Managing Director of the National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE) Dr. Noor Amina Malik, were also present. During the meeting, Dr. Asiya Bukhari congratulated Professor Dr. Ziaul Haq on assuming the position of Executive Director and expressed full confidence in his leadership for the advancement of higher education.

Dr. Bukhari presented proposals from PNQAH to strengthen the capacity of higher education stakeholders, which were highly appreciated by the HEC Executive Director. It was decided that the Quality Assurance Agency and NAHE would coordinate further implementation of these proposals.

The meeting was also attended online by Dr. Suzanna Karakhanian, Advisor to PNQAH and former President of the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE).

At the conclusion of the meeting, both HEC and PNQAH agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the near future, under which the quality of education and the quality assurance system in higher education institutions will be further strengthened.
