Sunbul Siddiqui, originally from Karachi, has been elected Mayor of Cambridge for the third consecutive term, creating a historic record. Her re-election reflects strong public confidence in her leadership and continued commitment to community service.
Meanwhile, Burhan Azam, who hails from Burewala, Pakistan, has been elected as the new Deputy Mayor of Cambridge. This is the first time that both the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Cambridge are Pakistani Muslims, a milestone celebrated widely by the Pakistani diaspora.
