Professor Dr. Nasir Mahmood, Vice Chancellor of Allama Iqbal Open University, has emphasized that continuous professional training of faculty members is essential to maintain and further improve the quality of distance education. He stated that skills-based training workshops play a crucial role in aligning faculty members with modern teaching requirements and emerging educational trends.
He made these remarks while addressing the closing ceremony of a three-day training workshop on distance education, organized by the Department of Distance, Non-Formal, and Continuing Education for new faculty members.
The workshop aimed to familiarize faculty members with new dimensions of distance education, effective teaching strategies, and modern instructional methods. Faculty members from various departments of the university participated actively in the program.
At the conclusion of the workshop, the Vice Chancellor distributed certificates to participants and resource persons, urging that such skills-based workshops be conducted regularly to further improve educational standards.
Dr. Muhammad Atahar Hussain, Chairman of the department, and Dr. Muhammad Ajmal Chaudhry, Workshop Coordinator, expressed their gratitude to the Vice Chancellor for the successful organization of the workshop and appreciated the efforts of their team. They also reaffirmed their commitment to organize future workshops focusing on course development skills.
