Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the increasing interest of United Arab Emirates (UAE) investors in Pakistan’s digital economy, emphasizing that the longstanding brotherly ties between Pakistan and the UAE are now moving toward enhanced economic cooperation and investment.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office Media Wing, the Prime Minister met with a delegation from the prominent UAE-based Sujwani Group on Friday in Islamabad. During the meeting, PM Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the deep-rooted and trust-based relations between the two countries, noting that the recent visit of UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan further strengthened bilateral partnerships and created a conducive environment for cooperation.
The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction that recent high-level exchanges have increased confidence between private sectors and investors of both countries, laying a strong foundation for enhanced collaboration. He emphasized that the government of Pakistan gives special importance to business-to-business (B2B) cooperation in information technology, digital innovation, blockchain, and other emerging technologies.
PM Shehbaz Sharif welcomed UAE investors’ growing interest in Pakistan’s digital economy, stating that their investment, innovation, and global connections combined with Pakistan’s human capital provide a highly beneficial partnership for economic development. The Sujwani Group delegation reaffirmed its commitment to explore further investment and economic collaboration opportunities in Pakistan.
The Prime Minister expressed confidence that, with strong political support from both countries, private sector partnerships will further boost economic cooperation, taking Pakistan-UAE ties to new heights. The delegation thanked PM Shehbaz Sharif for the warm reception and hospitality, and the Prime Minister hosted a luncheon in their honor.
