Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has appealed to the nation to offer special prayers for peace, stability, and prosperity in Pakistan on the occasion of Lailat-ul-Miraj, a night of immense spiritual and religious significance.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office Media Wing on Friday, the Prime Minister extended heartfelt greetings to the people of Pakistan and Muslims worldwide on this blessed and spiritually uplifting night.
He prayed that Allah Almighty bless Muslims with the opportunity to benefit from the religious and spiritual significance of Lailat-ul-Miraj. The Prime Minister said that this night holds extraordinary spiritual and faith-based importance for the Muslim Ummah, as Allah granted His beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ the honor of the miraculous night journey (Miraj). This night teaches believers the importance of strong faith, worship, patience, piety, and closeness to Allah.
He emphasized that Lailat-ul-Miraj highlights steadfastness in faith, perseverance, obedience to Allah, and the cultivation of noble character. The Prime Minister said that the night reminds Muslims that prayer is the spiritual ascent of a believer, strengthening both the individual and society morally, spiritually, and practically. Citizens should draw lessons from this blessed night to align their personal and collective lives with Islamic teachings, promoting mutual tolerance, brotherhood, justice, and equity.
The Prime Minister stated that the event of Miraj signifies that after trials and challenges in the path of truth, Allah’s help inevitably reaches the believers, and victory and success are assured. By applying our abilities fully and relying on divine guidance, this message of trust in Allah can significantly contribute to individual growth, national conduct, and communal life.
He concluded by urging the nation to bow in prayer before Allah for the homeland, asking that Pakistan be blessed with lasting peace, stability, and prosperity, that national unity be strengthened, and that efforts for the welfare and progress of the country and its people be accepted.
