Freedom Cannot Be Jailed Despite Repression in Kashmir: Mishaal Hussain Malik

Islamabad (IMTISAL BUKHARI ):
Wife of Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik, Mishaal Hussain Malik, has said that the Narendra Modi government is systematically attempting to eliminate Kashmiri leadership in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir through false cases, draconian laws, and so-called judicial verdicts. She stated that despite severe repression and atrocities, the Kashmiri people remain steadfast in their demand for freedom.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Mishaal Hussain Malik said that the Modi government has turned courts in Kashmir into tools of political revenge, gradually imprisoning Kashmiri leaders through fabricated cases. She added that sentencing Asiya Andrabi is an attempt to intimidate the entire Kashmiri nation. Mishaal Malik further said that speaking about freedom has now become the biggest crime in India.

She said that the Modi regime, fearful of dissent, has crossed all limits of oppression. “Leadership can be imprisoned, but the idea of freedom cannot be jailed,” she remarked, adding that despite all forms of brutality, the Kashmiri people continue to stand firm for their right to self-determination. She emphasized that the Kashmir issue cannot be suppressed and will only be resolved in accordance with United Nations resolutions.
