Junaid Safdar, grandson of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and son of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, has tied the knot with Shanze Ali. The nikah ceremony was solemnized by Chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology, Mufti Raghib Naeemi. The haq mehr was fixed at Rs125,000.
Wedding festivities continued in Lahore, where the groom donned the traditional sehra. The baraat arrived at a private housing society in Lahore, with the groom’s car beautifully decorated with rose flowers. Several prominent political figures attended the ceremony.
Among the notable attendees at the nikah ceremony were former Prime Minister and PML-N President Mian Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister Mian Shehbaz Sharif, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Ishaq Dar, Sheikh Roheel Asghar, Ali Roheel Asghar, Hamza Shehbaz Sharif, Salman Shehbaz Sharif, Hussain Nawaz, Hassan Nawaz, Captain (Retd) Safdar, Mufti Raghib Hussain Naeemi, Rana Sanaullah, Maryam Aurangzeb, Uzma Bukhari, along with several foreign guests and other political leaders.
Shanze Sheikh, the bride, is the granddaughter of prominent political figure Sheikh Roheel Asghar. The walima reception of Junaid Safdar will be held on January 18, 2026, at Jati Umrah.
According to sources, around 800 guests have been invited to the walima ceremony. Earlier, the mehndi ceremony was held last night at Jati Umrah, attended by close family members and relatives of both families. Strict security arrangements were put in place throughout the three-day wedding celebrations.
