A comprehensive operation has been launched to rid the Federal Capital, Islamabad, of illegal advertisement boards and signboards. In line with the direction of Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, a large-scale cleanliness campaign is underway across the city against illegally placed advertisements, signboards and wall-chalking. The primary objective of this campaign is to transform Islamabad into a well-organized Capital while preserving its natural and scenic beauty.
According to details, under this initiative by MCI and CDA, not only are illegal advertisements being removed from the walls of commercial areas and Marakazs, but also from residential areas. Furthermore, unauthorized signboards along roadsides and advertisement materials on poles are being permanently removed.
Chief Officer MCI, Dr. Anam Fatima, said that legal proceedings have been initiated against those who install illegal advertisements. She said the process of registering FIRs is ongoing against individuals and groups who advertise without permission from the relevant authorities, so that action can be taken against such elements in accordance with the law.
Chief Officer MCI further said that all trade unions and the business community are being taken into confidence in this regard. She further said that all trade unions and the business community are highly appreciative of this commendable step by CDA.
On this occasion, citizens of the Federal Capital Islamabad said that this operation will not only enhance the aesthetic beauty of the city but will also protect citizens from the unauthorized advertisements of fraudulent and deceitful elements.
MCI administration has appealed to the citizens of the Federal Capital Islamabad to fully cooperate in such initiatives and to immediately inform the relevant authorities in case of any illegal advertisement or signboard.
