President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, expressed deep sorrow and grief over the tragic fire at Gul Plaza in Karachi. According to a statement issued by the Press Wing of the Presidency on Sunday, the President conveyed his condolences for the loss of precious human lives and extended heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved families.
The President urged the Sindh government and relevant authorities to provide immediate and all possible assistance to the affected individuals and traders. He emphasized that the injured should be provided with the best medical care and facilities. President Zardari prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured and for patience and strength for the affected families.
President Zardari also expressed profound grief over the death of firefighter Furqan Ali, who sacrificed his life during the fire at Gul Plaza. He described Furqan Ali’s professional courage and sense of duty as an exemplary act of public service and offered his heartfelt condolences to the firefighter’s family.
The President said the nation would always remember the sacrifices of its brave sons. He urged that fire safety and emergency response systems be strengthened to prevent such incidents in the future. President Zardari instructed the Sindh government to conduct a comprehensive review of safety arrangements in commercial and residential buildings across Karachi and the province and to ensure active participation in relief efforts, prompt medical treatment for the injured, and immediate care for affected families.
