Punjab’s Sahulat Bazaars Create Jobs and Provide Affordable Essentials to Thousands of Families

Lahore (Bureau Report):

Punjab’s Sahulat Bazaar initiative has generated employment opportunities and made affordable goods easily accessible to the public. Under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s Sahulat Bazaar project, over 55,000 households have benefitted, with stoves now burning in homes across the province.

A total of 46 Sahulat Bazaars across Punjab have provided dignified employment to 9,200 people. Over the past year, these bazaars have welcomed more than 8.5 million visitors, generating purchases worth 4.25 billion rupees. The bazaars offer 13 essential food items, including vegetables and fruits, at wholesale rates, helping consumers save 110 million rupees.

In cities including Wazirabad, Chiniot, Jaranwala, Khanewal, Bhulawal, Pattoki, Okara, and Muzaffargarh, Sahulat Bazaars have supplied affordable and high-quality products. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has set a target to establish 30 new Sahulat Bazaars by June 30 and has directed that efforts be accelerated to gradually set up these markets in every tehsil across Punjab.

She emphasized that the Sahulat Bazaars ensure easy access to affordable and quality food items, and affirmed her commitment to providing every citizen in Punjab with high-quality goods at reasonable prices.
