Islamabad (Staff Reporter):
U.S. President Donald Trump has invited Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to join the Board of Peace established for Gaza, according to a spokesperson from the Foreign Office. The official confirmed that Pakistan has received a formal offer to participate in the peace board concerning Gaza.
The spokesperson emphasized that Pakistan will continue to play an active role in global efforts for peace and stability in the region and will remain in constant contact with the international community to ensure sustainable peace in Gaza.
The Foreign Office reiterated that a lasting and just solution to the Palestine issue must be in accordance with United Nations resolutions, while Pakistan will continue to support diplomatic measures for permanent peace in the Middle East.
It is worth noting that the White House has already announced the names of the members of the Gaza Board of Peace under President Trump’s peace initiative. The board has been established to coordinate security, humanitarian aid, and reconstruction efforts, as well as to promote reforms within the Palestinian Authority and governmental structures.
On the other hand, Israel has rejected the establishment of the Gaza Board, stating that the move contradicts Israeli government policy. According to foreign media, a statement issued by the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel was not consulted regarding the formation of the board.
