MQM Chairman Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui Writes to PM Shehbaz Sharif Demanding High-Level Transparent Inquiry Commission for Gul Plaza Tragedy

MQM Pakistan Chairman Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has written a letter to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif regarding the Gul Plaza tragedy. In the letter, he demanded the formation of a high-level, impartial, and transparent commission named the Gul Plaza Inquiry Commission.

The letter stated that the commission should include the FIA, NAB, NDMA, and other relevant agencies. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui urged the federal government and law enforcement agencies to immediately manage rescue and relief operations to ensure the safety of human lives and valuable belongings.

He also demanded the establishment of a federal relief and rehabilitation fund to provide financial assistance to the victims and their families. Seven days after the incident, several people are still missing, and the relatives have not recovered the bodies of their loved ones. Over 12,000 families were directly affected by the tragedy.

In the letter, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui stated that the direct responsibility for the deaths and financial losses lies with the Sindh government, provincial departments, and local authorities. He further alleged that the Sindh government, Karachi Mayor, SBCA, and other institutions were guilty of criminal negligence.
