UK Deploys Fighter Jets to Qatar Amid Rising Iran–US Tensions

Due to rising tensions between Iran and the United States, the United Kingdom has deployed fighter jets to Qatar. According to British media, the Royal Air Force has stationed four Typhoon fighter jets in Qatar.

In this regard, the British Ministry of Defence stated that the fighter jets were deployed for defensive purposes.

Earlier, while speaking to journalists aboard Air Force One, President Trump said that a large US force is moving toward Iran, with many aircraft heading in that direction. He added that forces are being deployed near Iran as a precaution and said, “We’ll see what happens next.”

Previously, Trump had stated that he would not take further military action against Iran; however, he warned that the United States would respond if Iran restarted its nuclear program.
