Islamabad ( Ehsan Bukhari – Special Reporter):
A major action has been taken at Islamabad International Airport against corruption, mismanagement, and other serious complaints. The Director of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Shehzad Nadeem Bukhari, has taken disciplinary action against 60 officers and staff members posted at the FIA Immigration department.
Out of these, 20 officers and employees have been removed from their jobs. Others have been given punishments like demotion—some Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs) have been made Head Constables, and some Head Constables have been demoted to Constables.
This action came after multiple complaints were received about the behavior and illegal activities of FIA officers at the airport. After an internal investigation, it was found that many officers were involved in corruption and even human smuggling—sending people abroad illegally.
Some of the officers who were demoted include ASI Safir, Imran Sheikh, Sidra Kulsoom, and Muhammad Shehzad, who were made Head Constables. Head Constables like Qalb Abbas, Ejaz, and Hassan Faizan were demoted to Constables. Officers like Alam Zeb and Shakeel Islam also faced service penalties.
The following officers were removed from their jobs completely due to serious charges: Muhammad Shehzad (ASI), Sadaqat Ali, Azam Khan, Mubashir Kazmi, Adil Mahmood Qureshi, Muhammad Safir, Ejaz Ahmad Theme, and Nawabzada Jabbar Haider.
Many Head Constables were also dismissed, including: Tahir Safir, Rizwan Ali Khan, Qalb Abbas, Bilal Ahmed Bugti, Irfan Niazi, Shehzad Sandhu, Raja Muddasir, Naseem Nawaz, Tahir Mehmood, Faiz-ul-Hasan, Waqar Ali, Waseem Arshad, Alam Zeb, Naeem Shehzad, Amir Zahoor, Jawad Ahmed Khan, Arsalan Riaz, Sher Dil, Shakeel Salam, and Faheem Shehzad.
The Ministry of Interior also played a major role in this crackdown, especially after reports that some FIA staff were involved in sending people abroad illegally, contributing to human smuggling networks.
