Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif inaugurated Islamabad’s first One-Window Business Facilitation Center on Thursday, declaring it a major step forward in simplifying the investment process and enhancing ease of doing business in Pakistan.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the Prime Minister said that the newly established Business Facilitation Center will provide investors with timely, accurate, and essential guidance, information, and services — all under one roof. He emphasized that the center meets international standards and is a testament to the government’s commitment to facilitating business growth and attracting investment.
“This center will offer investors high-quality services and ensure that all necessary procedures are completed efficiently and professionally,” the Prime Minister stated. He praised the professionalism of the staff stationed at the center and instructed that investors be provided with services at par with global standards.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commended the efforts of the Board of Investment and relevant ministries in setting up the center and announced that similar centers would be established across the country to support investment and economic development.
Minister for Investment, Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, briefed the Prime Minister on the center’s role in promoting investment, stating that it represents a significant milestone. “This is a major development, as it will provide investors with all essential information, guidance, and facilities in one place,” the minister noted.
During the visit, the Prime Minister toured various service desks and reviewed the facilities being offered. Officials briefed him on the services available at the center, highlighting that enterprises can receive comprehensive guidance on regulatory and procedural matters. Once requirements are reviewed and simplified processes completed, most operations are processed online in minimal time.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif unveiled the inauguration plaque to officially open the One-Window Business Facilitation Center. He also received a detailed briefing from the Special Economic Zones Wing of the Board of Investment.
The event was attended by federal ministers, members of parliament, and senior government officials, all of whom lauded the initiative as a significant boost to investor confidence and a catalyst for economic activity in Pakistan.
