RAW Network Busted in Pakistan: CTD Uncovers Plot Behind Badin Target Killing, Links to Karachi Terror Plans

KARACHI STAFF REPORTER

Pakistani intelligence and counterterrorism agencies have busted a major network of India’s notorious spy agency, RAW, allegedly involved in targeted killings and terrorism across the country.

Addressing a press conference, Additional IG CTD Sindh Azad Khan and DIG CTD revealed details of the murder of a local landlord, Abdul Rehman, which occurred on May 18, 2025, in the Matli area of Badin. Rehman was well known in the region for his philanthropic activities. According to officials, CCTV footage of the incident showed three suspects, who were also identified by eyewitnesses.

Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder. Authorities recovered the pistol and motorcycle used in the attack from their possession. During interrogation, it was revealed that the murder plot had links to RAW. The agency had allegedly set up a safe house in Karachi to facilitate terrorists and orchestrate attacks. The planning and coordination of targeted killings were reportedly carried out from abroad.

Officials disclosed that a RAW agent, Sanjay Sanjeev Kumar alias “Fauji,” recruited two Pakistani nationals, Salman and Arsalan, while they were working in a Gulf state. Salman later formed a gang of target killers that included Umair, Sajjad, Ubaid, and Shakeel.

RAW allegedly provided substantial financial support for terrorism and targeted killings, using formal banking remittance channels to fund these operations. Investigations have uncovered evidence linking RAW to bombings and terror activities in Karachi and other cities.

Weapons recovered from the arrested target killers included 9mm pistols, .30 bore pistols, and 125 mortar shells. A bomb was also seized during the operation. CTD has registered cases under anti-terrorism laws, and the suspects have confessed to working as local operatives for RAW. Links have also been established between the arrested individuals and the banned outfit Sindhudesh Revolutionary Army (SRA).

Authorities have obtained the names of potential future targets and confirmed that the arrested men were involved in various terrorism plots in Karachi. Shockingly, Indian media reportedly celebrated Abdul Rehman’s murder, further pointing toward cross-border involvement in destabilizing activities.
