Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Meets Chinese Minister of Industry and Information Technology Li Lecheng to Deepen Bilateral Cooperation

Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, held a high-level meeting with China’s Minister of Industry and Information Technology, Li Lecheng, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation in key sectors including industry, agriculture, trade, information and communication technology, mining, and minerals.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s vision to deepen strategic collaboration with China in these areas. He underscored the pivotal role of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as the cornerstone of Pakistan’s socio-economic development and expressed satisfaction over the ongoing progress under Phase II of the initiative.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also highlighted the importance of CPEC in fostering regional connectivity and economic growth, stating that the partnership with China remains a vital component of Pakistan’s development strategy.

Praising the Prime Minister’s economic reform agenda, Chinese Minister Li Lecheng emphasized that China regards Pakistan as an “iron brother” and an “all-weather strategic cooperative partner.” He reaffirmed China’s strong commitment to elevating bilateral relations to new heights of cooperation and mutual benefit.

The meeting reflected both countries’ shared resolve to further deepen their comprehensive strategic partnership through enhanced collaboration across diverse sectors, paving the way for long-term prosperity and development.
