During the recent visit of Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, to China, several significant Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed at the second Pakistan-China Business-to-Business (B2B) Conference. These agreements aim to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of Information Technology between Pakistan and China.

The conference focused on emerging technologies, digital collaboration, and promoting investment. One of the key highlights was the signing of a Government-to-Government (G2G) agreement between Pakistan’s Ministry of IT and Telecommunication and China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) to cooperate in emerging technologies.
In the Government-to-Business (G2B) domain, a major agreement was signed between Huawei Technologies and NTC Pakistan to enhance fiberization and improve government connectivity.
Furthermore, a partnership agreement was established between Alibaba International Digital Commerce and Ignite for capacity building and mutual collaboration. The Ministry of IT also signed an MoU with Pak-China Investment Company Limited (PCICL) to boost cooperation in various IT-related projects.
To promote youth training and skill development, the Ministry of IT signed an agreement with ZTE. Additionally, collaboration MoUs were signed with China Submarine Cable Construction Company Limited (CSCC) and the GoVDong Group.
Another significant agreement was inked between the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) and the Shanghai Lingang International Data Industry Institute (SHLID), aiming to foster cooperation in the data and software export sectors.
One of the most notable milestones of the conference was the agreement between ZTE and SKY47 to establish an advanced data center in Pakistan. This project is expected to play a crucial role in taking Pakistan’s digital infrastructure to the next level.
These agreements mark the beginning of a new era of Pakistan-China technology collaboration, expected to bring significant advancements in digital economy development, IT industry growth, and investment promotion.
