On the special instructions of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has intensified relief operations in the flood-affected areas of Punjab.
Today, an additional consignment of emergency relief supplies — comprising 20 trucks — was dispatched from NDMA’s central warehouse in Islamabad. The relief goods will be handed over to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab to ensure timely and organized distribution to the flood victims.
The latest shipment includes folding beds, bedding, heaters, and quilts. This follows a previous dispatch on September 9, which involved 10 trucks carrying essential supplies. Additionally, local warehouses have supplied blankets and water cans to support the affected communities.
So far, a total of 1,513 tons of relief supplies have been delivered to Punjab. These include tents, mosquito nets, water filtration plants, folding beds, water containers, and quilts. Furthermore, 17 boats have been provided to facilitate access to hard-to-reach flood-hit areas.
NDMA is maintaining close coordination with all civil and military institutions and is continuously monitoring the ongoing relief efforts to prevent any disruptions or delays in aid delivery.
