UK High Commissioner Meets Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Announces £3 Million Emergency Flood Relief

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met with British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Jane Marriott, on Friday in Islamabad.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the UK High Commissioner expressed full solidarity with Pakistan over the devastating impact of recent monsoon rains and flooding, reaffirming the United Kingdom’s commitment to support Pakistan during this humanitarian crisis.

High Commissioner Marriott announced that the UK government, in coordination with the Government of Pakistan and the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), is providing £3 million in emergency relief and response aid, with additional humanitarian assistance also in the pipeline.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar appreciated the timely response and solidarity shown by the United Kingdom, acknowledging its understanding of the scale of destruction and the urgency of needs on the ground. He thanked the UK for its continued support in relief and rehabilitation efforts.

The meeting also included discussions on bilateral relations, the importance of high-level exchanges, and recent regional and international developments of mutual interest.
