Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Expresses Grief Over the Passing of Saudi Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdulaziz Al Sheikh

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has expressed deep sorrow and condolences over the passing of Saudi Arabia’s Grand Mufti, Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al Sheikh, calling it a moment of grief not only for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia but for the entire Muslim Ummah.

In a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office on Tuesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the late Sheikh Abdulaziz, describing him as a highly respected Islamic scholar who dedicated his entire life to the promotion of the Holy Qur’an and Sunnah, the interpretation of Islamic Sharia, and the guidance of the Muslim community.

The Prime Minister said that the late Grand Mufti’s efforts and scholarly insight towards the unity of the Muslim Ummah would always be remembered. “His contributions to Islamic scholarship and religious thought are a shining chapter in our religious and academic traditions. Future generations will continue to benefit from the rich intellectual legacy he has left behind,” he said.

He further stated that the people and government of Pakistan share the sorrow of the people and leadership of the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He offered heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and the entire Saudi leadership and nation.

The Prime Minister also prayed for the departed soul, asking Almighty Allah to grant Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al Sheikh a high rank in Jannat-ul-Firdous and accept his religious services.
