United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has described the humanitarian situation in Gaza as the “worst ever,” urging immediate and unrestricted access to humanitarian aid for the affected population.

Speaking at the United Nations General Assembly, Guterres emphasized that the UN was established to uphold global solidarity and maintain international peace and security, and must continue to serve as a guarantor of peace.

He stressed the urgent need for uninterrupted humanitarian assistance in Gaza, stating that the current conditions demand swift and collective international action to alleviate the suffering of civilians.

“The humanitarian situation in Gaza has reached catastrophic levels,” Guterres said, calling on all stakeholders to ensure the safe and rapid delivery of aid without delay or obstruction.
