NEW YORK MONITORING DESK
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has strongly condemned Israel’s actions in Gaza, calling them not a war but a continuation of occupation, genocide, and mass killing.
Addressing the United Nations General Assembly, President Erdoğan stated that for the past 23 months, Israel has been killing one child every hour in Gaza. “Humanity has not witnessed such cruelty in the past century as we are seeing now in Gaza,” he said. “This is the lowest point of human conscience, where children are dying from hunger and lack of medicine, and even the UN has failed to protect its own staff from Israeli attacks.”
Erdoğan warned that Israeli leadership has become a major threat to regional peace. He emphasized that Israeli aggression is not limited to Gaza and the West Bank but has expanded through attacks on Syria, Iran, Lebanon, Yemen — and now even poses a threat to Qatar.
Calling for justice, the Turkish President said that those responsible for genocide must be held accountable in a court of law. He urged the international community to work towards an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and ensure the swift and unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to the besieged population.
