Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, has strongly condemned the recent Israeli airstrike on Qatar, calling it a blatant violation of international norms and a serious crime.
Speaking at the United Nations General Assembly, the Qatari leader harshly criticized Israel, stating that the September 9 airstrike was not only an attempt to sabotage the peace process but also a clear example of diplomacy driven by political assassination and violence.
“This attack proves that Israel is not seeking genuine dialogue — it is using negotiations as a cover to eliminate its political opponents,” said Sheikh Tamim.
He further accused Israel of pursuing a deliberate policy to make Gaza uninhabitable. “Israeli leadership wants to prolong the war in order to realize the vision of ‘Greater Israel,’ expand illegal settlements, and alter the status quo of holy sites,” he warned.
The Emir stressed the importance of upholding international law, urging that legal standards must apply equally to all nations. “If international law is applied selectively, global peace and stability will suffer irreparable damage,” he stated.
Sheikh Tamim’s remarks echoed growing international concern over escalating Israeli aggression in the region and highlighted the urgent need for accountability and respect for international norms.
