Federal Minister Junaid Anwar Chairs Key Meeting on Elevating Pakistan Marine Academy to University Status

A high-level meeting on maritime affairs was held under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry, to review progress on upgrading the Pakistan Marine Academy to the status of a university.

During the meeting, the Federal Minister emphasized that the establishment of a Maritime University is essential to promote maritime education in Pakistan and to prepare a skilled workforce in line with international standards. He directed the relevant authorities to expedite the completion of all legal, administrative, and technical requirements.

Junaid Anwar Chaudhry stated that the proposed university would meet both national and international standards and would serve as a driving force for the government’s maritime development agenda. He noted that the university would mark the beginning of a new era of advanced maritime education and training in Pakistan and play a pivotal role in strengthening the blue economy and the maritime sector.

Calling it a milestone for human resource development, the Minister added that the Maritime University is being designed with future needs in mind and will help produce experts in marine sciences, navigation, shipping, and other related fields.

Senior officials and experts from various relevant institutions also participated in the meeting and provided detailed briefings on different aspects of the project.
