Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus Pledge to Strengthen Bilateral and Regional Cooperation

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser, Professor Muhammad Yunus, reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing multidimensional cooperation between Pakistan and Bangladesh, particularly in the areas of trade, regional collaboration, and fostering closer ties between the peoples of both nations.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office on Thursday, the meeting took place on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly. Held in a cordial and warm atmosphere, the discussion focused on strengthening bilateral relations and deepening engagement in areas of mutual interest.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to building strong relations with Bangladesh based on mutual respect, tolerance, trust, and shared goals of regional development and cooperation. He emphasized the importance of enhancing connectivity, economic integration, and people-to-people exchanges.

Professor Muhammad Yunus welcomed the improvement in diplomatic relations and appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role at both regional and global levels. He also highlighted the need to further promote bilateral trade and cultural ties as a means to foster greater understanding and collaboration between the two countries.
