Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Praises President Donald Trump as “Ambassador of Peace”; Calls for Stronger Pakistan-U.S. Ties

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has lauded former U.S. President Donald J. Trump as an “Ambassador of Peace,” crediting his leadership for facilitating a ceasefire between Pakistan and India and averting a potential regional crisis.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, PM Shehbaz Sharif met with President Trump at the White House in a warm and cordial meeting, which was also attended by Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI(M), Hilal-e-Jurat.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised President Trump’s courageous and decisive leadership, stating that his diplomatic efforts played a crucial role in defusing tensions between Islamabad and New Delhi. “Thanks to President Trump’s efforts, the region was able to step back from the brink of conflict,” he said.

Speaking on global issues, PM Shehbaz appreciated President Trump’s initiative to convene Muslim world leaders in New York this week for consultations aimed at restoring peace in Gaza, the West Bank, and across the Middle East. He emphasized the need for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and thanked Trump for his proactive approach to ending the violence.

The Prime Minister also expressed gratitude for the recent tariff arrangement between Pakistan and the United States, finalized earlier this year, which aims to boost bilateral trade and economic cooperation.

Highlighting the importance of a long-term strategic partnership, PM Shehbaz Sharif said he is confident that under Trump’s leadership, Pakistan-U.S. relations would grow stronger and serve the mutual interests of both nations.He invited U.S. companies to invest in Pakistan’s key sectors including agriculture, information technology, energy, and minerals. He assured them of a conducive business environment and strong government support.

On regional security, both leaders discussed enhancing cooperation in counter-terrorism efforts. Prime Minister Shehbaz thanked President Trump for his continued support of Pakistan’s role in global counter-terrorism and emphasized the need to further strengthen security and intelligence collaboration between the two countries.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended a warm invitation to President Trump to undertake an official visit to Pakistan at a mutually convenient time.
