Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday praised security forces for their swift action against militants of the group Fitna-e-Hindustan following an attack in Quetta, and vowed that those who harm innocent civilians “will be crushed.”
In a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office media wing, Shahbaz Sharif expressed condolences and prayers for a speedy recovery for the security personnel and civilians injured in the assault. “We will frustrate the vile designs of those who target the lives and property of innocent, unarmed citizens,” he said.
The prime minister warned that elements attempting to undermine Pakistan’s territorial integrity would receive severe and exemplary punishment. He reiterated that the government, security forces and the entire nation are resolute in their commitment to uproot terrorism and the organisation Fitna-e-Hindustan from the country.
Shahbaz Sharif’s remarks come amid renewed concerns over militant activity in Balochistan. He praised the professionalism of the security forces for neutralising the attackers and called on citizens to remain vigilant and united against the threat of terrorism.
