The faculty member and trainee officers of the 38th Senior Management Course, under the National Institute of Public Administration, visited the CDA Headquarters on Wednesday. Member Planning and Design, Dr. Khalid Hafiz, Member Finance, Tahir Naeem, and CDA officers welcomed the 38th SMC officers at the CDA Headquarters.

Member Planning and Design briefed the SMC participants on the overview, objectives, administrative structure, functions and operations of the CDA. He informed them that the Capital City, Islamabad, was built according to a Master Plan, which has been divided into five different zones. Participants were given detailed information about the implementation of zoning regulations and urban planning in the Capital City, Islamabad.
Member Planning and Design apprised them of the issues facing the Capital City, Islamabad, and the measures being taken to address them. In this regard, the briefing highlighted that the Islamabad Water has been established to resolve the water issues in Islamabad. Similarly, various measures and projects are being initiated for the better management of existing water resources and for better future water supply.

During the briefing, the Senior Management Course participants were informed in detail about Islamabad’s transport system. This includes 4 metro bus routes and 160 electric bus feeder routes currently operational in the city. The briefing also highlighted that Islamabad’s mass transit network has been integrated with Google Maps and information for all stations is now live on Google Maps.
The faculty and trainee officers of the 38th Senior Management Course under the National Institute of Public Administration were also briefed on the Solid Waste Management System, the CDA’s budget and its various sources of revenue. They were informed about the environment-friendly initiatives in the City, the massive tree plantation campaign, crackdowns against illegal constructions and encroachments, sectoral development, digital parking and other important development projects.
The briefing emphasized that the CDA is working day and night to resolve the problems of Islamabad and to make it a beautiful and model city for the world. All resources are being utilized in this regard to ensure the provision of better and the best facilities to the citizens. At the end of the briefing, a question and answer session was held with the Senior Management Course participants, where various civic issues and their solutions were discussed.
At the conclusion of the visit, commemorative shield was presented to the faculty members of the National Institute of Public Administration. Group photos were taken and best wishes were extended to the course participants for their promotion from Grade 19 to Grade 20, with the hope that all participants would play their role in the development and progress of Pakistan in a befitting manner after the completion of course.
