President Asif Ali Zardari has strongly condemned the Israeli aggression against the Global Freedom Flotilla, terming the attack on the humanitarian mission a blatant violation of human rights and international law.

In a statement issued by the Press Wing of the Presidency on Thursday, President Zardari paid tribute to the bravery and humanitarian spirit of the Pakistani citizens aboard the flotilla, who were part of the aid mission aimed at delivering much-needed relief to the people of Gaza.

“The attack on a peaceful humanitarian mission is a grave breach of international laws and humanitarian norms,” the President said.

He urged the international community to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid to the civilians of Gaza, who continue to suffer amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis.

President Zardari also expressed deep concern for the safety of the Pakistani participants on board the flotilla and conveyed his best wishes for their swift and safe return.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s long-standing support for the Palestinian cause, he stated:

“Pakistan will always stand by the oppressed people of Palestine.”
