PM Shehbaz Sharif Welcomes Success of Dialogue Process in Azad Jammu and Kashmir

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has welcomed the successful outcome of the dialogue process in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), calling the agreement between the government’s negotiation committee and the Joint Action Committee a positive step towards peace and stability.

In a statement issued by the PM Office’s media wing on Saturday, the Prime Minister expressed satisfaction over the restoration of normalcy in the region and said that the establishment of peace is a commendable development. “The government is always ready to resolve the issues of our Kashmiri brothers,” he stated. “Do not pay attention to rumors—we have always protected the rights of our Kashmiri brothers and sisters and will continue to do so.”

PM Shehbaz praised the efforts of the negotiation committee, lauding both their individual and collective contributions to the peaceful resolution. He congratulated the members for their successful efforts and said the resolution marks a significant achievement for both Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

“The conspiracies and rumors have finally come to an end, and all matters have been resolved amicably—Alhamdulillah,” he noted, also extending his gratitude to the members of the Joint Action Committee for their cooperation and efforts towards peace.

The Prime Minister reiterated that public welfare and peace remain top priorities for his government. He assured the people of AJK that their problems have always received serious attention and will continue to be addressed on a priority basis. “We will keep serving Azad Kashmir and ensure the protection of rights of the Kashmiri people at every level,” he affirmed.
