Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdel Atty to discuss key aspects of bilateral relations and regional developments, particularly the dire situation in Gaza.
According to a statement issued by the Foreign Office on Saturday, the two foreign ministers exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, focusing on the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
They discussed ongoing diplomatic efforts, including consultations held in New York among Arab and Islamic countries. These efforts aim to achieve an immediate and lasting ceasefire, ensure unhindered humanitarian aid, and pursue collective action for sustainable peace in Gaza.
The Deputy Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s support for these efforts and welcomed recent developments, including Hamas’s response to the proposed peace plan, which has raised hopes for an end to the bloodshed.
Senator Dar also extended an invitation to the Egyptian Foreign Minister to visit Pakistan in the near future, which was graciously accepted. Both sides agreed to remain engaged and coordinated in efforts aimed at securing a just and durable peace in Gaza.
