Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and member of the government committee for negotiations, Amir Muqam, stated that the successful talks with the Joint Action Committee in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) have thwarted India’s nefarious designs.

Speaking to the media upon his return to Islamabad after the successful negotiations, Amir Muqam asserted that India’s aspirations for bloodshed in Kashmir will never materialize. He said that issues in AJK have been resolved amicably and the situation is now under control.

He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for his support during the negotiations and reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the right to self-determination of the people of Indian-occupied Kashmir. “The brotherly bond with the people of occupied Kashmir will always remain intact,” he added.

Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal also addressed the media, stating that normalcy has returned to AJK and that the negotiations prioritized the interests of both Pakistan and Azad Kashmir. He acknowledged the limited resources but emphasized the government’s commitment to overcoming challenges. “The success of the talks is a victory for the people of AJK and for democracy,” he said.

Ahsan Iqbal further stressed the need to strengthen the administrative structure and vowed that all promises made by the federal government would be fulfilled. “The people of AJK deserve congratulations on this successful agreement,” he noted.

Former Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervaiz Ashraf added that no one can create a rift between the people of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir. “Peace has been restored through the successful negotiations with the AJK Joint Committee, and their legitimate demands will be addressed,” he said.
