Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi met with Chairman of Kashmir Council–European Union, Ali Raza Syed, to discuss the worsening situation in Occupied Kashmir and Ladakh, as well as India’s increasing military aggression.
According to a statement issued by the Governor House, both leaders held an in-depth exchange on the ongoing human rights violations by Indian forces and the regional security implications of India’s hostile actions.
Governor Kundi reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people.
“Pakistan remains committed to its principled stance on Kashmir and will continue to raise the issue at international forums,” the governor said.
He added that India’s political and military leadership was issuing war-like statements in an attempt to cover up its recent electoral defeat in May, but emphasized that Pakistan is fully capable of delivering an effective and strong response.
Ali Raza Syed briefed the governor on ongoing diplomatic and political activities in Europe to highlight the Kashmir issue and India’s severe human rights abuses.
He pointed out that Governor Kundi’s visit to Brussels in August and meetings with European Parliamentarians had helped elevate the visibility of Pakistan’s stance on Kashmir across several European capitals.
Both sides agreed on the urgent need for a peaceful resolution to the Kashmir dispute in the interest of long-term regional peace and stability, and vowed continued support for the Kashmiri freedom movement.
Ali Raza Syed also invited Governor Kundi to attend the launch ceremony of the book “Kashmir: Wait and See” by international journalist Cedric Gerbay, scheduled to take place in Islamabad in November. The book explores the plight of Kashmiris under Indian occupation and the geopolitical complexities of the dispute.
The meeting underscored Pakistan’s continued commitment to global advocacy for Kashmir, amid rising tensions in the region.
