It is with profound grief and sorrow that the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) announces the tragic martyrdom of its senior officer, Director (Land), Mr. Ehsan Elahi, who was targeted by unidentified assailants on a motorcycle in Blue Area, Islamabad, yesterday. Sadly, Mr. Ehsan Elahi embraced martyrdom at the scene of the incident.
The funeral prayers of the late Mr. Ehsan Elahi were offered at Jamia Masjid Riaz-ul-Jannah, Football Ground, near Service Road (E), Sector G-10/4, Islamabad. The Federal Minister for Housing, Mr. Riaz Hussain Pirzada, visited PIMS Hospital, met with the bereaved family, and expressed his heartfelt condolences.
The Federal Minister for Interior, Mr. Mohsin Naqvi, has taken strict notice of the incident and sought a report from the Inspector General of Police, Islamabad. The Interior Minister has directed a comprehensive investigation into all aspects of the murder and ordered the immediate arrest of the perpetrators. Mr. Mohsin Naqvi emphasized that no effort should be spared in ensuring justice for the victim’s family. Police and investigative agencies are actively pursuing the case, while the post-mortem report is still awaited. The Authority is extending full cooperation to the concerned departments to ensure that the motives and culprits behind this tragic incident are identified and brought to justice at the earliest.
The late Mr. Ehsan Elahi was a highly dedicated, honest, and diligent officer who worked with utmost sincerity and commitment on several key projects of the Housing Authority, including the Park Road Margalla Orchard Housing Scheme. His professional competence, courage, and spirit of public service had earned him a distinguished reputation among the Authority’s officers.
The legal fraternity, including representatives of the Supreme Court Bar Association, has also expressed deep shock over this tragic incident. The Director General, officers, and all staff of the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority express their profound grief and heartfelt condolences on the untimely martyrdom of Mr. Ehsan Elahi. This tragic loss is not only an irreparable setback for the Housing Authority but also a moment of great sorrow for the citizens of Islamabad and all government institutions.
The Authority stands in solidarity with the bereaved family in this hour of grief and prays that Almighty Allah may elevate the ranks of the departed soul, grant him forgiveness, and bestow patience and strength upon his family. Furthermore, FGEHA has contacted the concerned judicial and administrative authorities to ensure that all legal procedures are undertaken and justice is served in full.
