Increase in Property Transfer Fees Has Stagnated the Market: Zargham Shah

ISLAMABAD STAFF REPORTER

President of D-12 Markaz and Member of Islamabad Estate Agents Association, Syed Zargham Shah, has said that the increase in property transfer fees has led to stagnation in the real estate market. This decision, he stated, has further reduced property transactions and shaken investor confidence.

He added that the real estate sector is already burdened with multiple taxes, and the additional rise in transfer fees has further strained one of the most vital sectors of the economy. Shah urged the government to take immediate notice of this issue and withdraw the decision, emphasizing the need to promote investor-friendly policies to restore stability in the market. He further demanded that the government formulate a comprehensive and practical policy in consultation with stakeholders of the real estate sector, so that revenue generation can continue while maintaining the momentum of business activities.
