PTI Appointing Terror Facilitators in KP, Claims Information Minister Atta Tarar

Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar has alleged that PTI founder Imran Khan removed Ali Amin Gandapur from his position for failing to adequately facilitate terrorists and appointed Sohaib Afridi — a close associate of absconding PTI leader Murad Saeed — in his place specifically for this purpose.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Minister Tarar claimed that the entire PTI leadership has acted as facilitators for terrorists. Citing Imran Khan’s past statements, Tarar said the former Prime Minister had referred to militants as “good people” and advocated for negotiations and resettlement of these elements during his time in power.

Tarar further said that Imran Khan brought terrorists back, provided them safe passage, and gave them places to live. “Even today, politics in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa revolves around these same dangerous ideas,” he stated.

According to Tarar, the real reason behind the removal of Ali Amin Gandapur was his reluctance or failure to fully support terrorist groups as per the PTI founder’s alleged demands. “Ali Amin Gandapur was told to extend full support and facilities to terrorists, but he couldn’t deliver on that front, which led to his dismissal,” said Tarar.

He went on to allege that Sohaib Afridi has been installed to ensure full backing and facilitation of terrorist elements. “We will not allow this to happen under any circumstances,” Tarar warned. “Let it be clear to the KP government and PTI that Pakistan’s security policy is made in Islamabad — not in Kabul.”

Highlighting the deteriorating security situation in KP, Tarar criticized the PTI’s long-standing rule in the province, stating that despite 12 years in power, terrorism remains rampant. “Our security forces continue to sacrifice their lives daily, standing as an unbreakable wall between terrorists and the people,” he said.

The minister also commented on a recent court decision in London, claiming it had dismantled PTI’s entire narrative. “After this judgment, how can PTI’s overseas elements — sitting in different corners of the world — continue spreading propaganda against Pakistan or its armed forces?” he questioned. “They’ve lost credibility both in Pakistan and abroad.”

Tarar concluded by asserting that the state would not tolerate any softness toward terrorism and that all national security decisions would remain the exclusive domain of the federal government.
