Chairman CDA, Chief Commissioner Islamabad and DG Civil Defense Muhammad Ali Randhawa along with IG Islamabad Syed Nasir Ali Rizvi and other concerned officers, visited the Islamabad Model Jail and reviewed the progress of construction work. On this occasion, senior officers briefed the Chairman CDA on the progress of construction work at the Islamabad Model Jail.
During the briefing, the relevant officers briefed Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa that the construction work of the Islamabad Model Jail is being completed in two phases. Under the first phase, 98% of the RCC compound and boundary walls along with 72% of the barracks’ construction have been completed. Similarly, 96% of the jail’s admin block and 75% of the road infrastructure and sewage work have also been finished.

Chairman CDA was further apprised that 70% of the construction work for the hospital and central kitchen in the Islamabad Model Jail has been completed. The construction of 24 sentry posts included in the project has been finished, while the remaining 10 will be completed within a month. Additionally, 72% of the central watchtower’s construction has been completed.
Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa directed that the provision of water and electricity for the Islamabad Model Jail be ensured soon. He also emphasized that the design and estimates for the jail’s sewage treatment plant should be finalized promptly. Furthermore, he instructed that the process of furnishing the admin block, hospital and warden barracks be completed soon.
Chairman CDA directed that the remaining construction work of the Islamabad Model Jail be completed as soon as possible. At the same time, he stressed that there should be no compromise on the high standards of construction, timely completion, and quality of the work.
