Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa Inaugurates New Pak Secretariat Parking Facility to Resolve Long-Standing Congestion Issues

Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, visited the newly constructed parking area at the Pak Secretariat on Thursday. The purpose of this project is to provide a permanent solution to the long-standing parking issues faced by employees and visitors at one of the most important Government offices in the Federal Capital. On this occasion, Member Admin and Estate Talat Mehmood, Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza, DC Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon along with other relevant officers, accompanied the Chairman CDA.

During the briefing, Chairman CDA was informed that this parking area spans approximately 133,729 square feet and will have the capacity to accommodate over one thousand vehicles. He was further informed that the completion of the project will benefit not only the employees of the Pak Secretariat but also citizens and visitors of nearby offices.

Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa said that this project is part of CDA’s efforts to modernize urban facilities and transform Islamabad into a better-organized and citizen-friendly capital. He emphasized that solving fundamental issues like parking will not only reduce traffic congestion but also save citizens’ time and energy.

Chairman CDA praised the efforts of the Engineering Wing and the team working on the project, noting that such initiatives are crucial for improving the efficiency of Government employees and providing convenience to citizens.

Chairman CDA directed that vehicles should only be parked in designated spaces and sheds to ensure an organized parking system. He also instructed that signboards be installed at prominent locations for the guidance of citizens, ensuring everyone can easily navigate the area.

Chairman CDA further emphasized that the existing parking adjacent to the Jamia Mosque in the Pak Secretariat should be further improved and expanded and made operational immediately. He said that a new parking facility near the Jamia Mosque will be established to permanently resolve the parking issues for the Secretariat and nearby offices.

Chairman CDA also directed that security, lighting, and cleanliness arrangements in the parking area must be ensured so that citizens can benefit from the parking facility in a safe and peaceful environment. He added that in the future, modern parking projects will be initiated in other areas of the Federal Capital to effectively manage the growing population and traffic pressure.
